Tips For Blending Bead Colours

Colour blending can be intimidating for a lot of people but this tips will make it a lot easier to come up with your colors. Colour plays a large part of our dressing everyday, what we wear, how we wear them, how we combine colours to suit our dressing.

One of the ways to understand the effect colours have on each other is to understand the relativity of colour. Blending of colours is very important while beading. For a lot of us, choosing colours of beads for a  beading project can take a longer time than starting the jewelry itself.

According to Carl Jung, the founder of Analytical Psychology he explained that human beings belong to two personality types which has a lot to do with how they behave in their day to day life which are; the introvert and the extrovert.

I could remember vividly now while I was in my final year in the university many years ago, my Head Of Department then, while talking about these personality types explained that the introvert set of people are those that are quite reserved and love spending time alone, wouldn't increase the volume of his television set even when he is at home and while combining colours this people would prefer to go for the simple and the cool colours unlike the extroverted people who are outgoing, talkative and the energetic type, would increase the sound of his TV set and would prefer colours that are flashy when dealing with colours for beading, dressing or  other things  like  painting of house...
This are the traits that are unique to one another and would determine how they do their things.

I am sure you could remember when you wrongly combine your colours on your outfit and you didn't feel too good about it. This can make people to have bad impression about you since there is a saying that ' First Impression last longer', just  like the same way you won't feel good with those dressing of yours is the same way while making beads and you choose wrong colours for your design. You will really create a bad impression from your client which is not appropriate.
The good part is that this post is written to guide you through.

Tips For Blending Bead Colours

1. Understand your personality type
The first thing you should never forget while combining colours on your beads or your outfit is who you are and what you want. Go for the colours that suit your character/ your person  either going for the cool or the flashy colours, it's all depend on how you blend all these colours together to bring out the result you desire.

Pick the colours you want yourself, do not copy anyone or live another person's lifestyle because that is not who you are. Be real, be yourself.

2. Know The Colour Scheme
It is very expedient as an individual to be aware of the schemes of colours that are available. The monochromatic and analogous colour  should be taken into consideration. The former is the single colour that can  be used for any design where all the colours are just shades of the same colour, don't forget to blend them together to your satisfaction and the latter explains that there are  quite a number of three or four colours that can be blended together to bring out the beauty of your design.

Having the knowledge of the primary colours  which are: Red, Yellow and Blue and the secondary colours include Orange, Green and Purple will give you the insight on how to bring out the best in this.

I will remind you of this saying again' the way you dress is the way you will be addressed' if your designs are top notch then choose the right colours for it.

3. Creativity is Key
The act of producing something totally different from what others have done is termed 'creativity'. That is what make you to be the best at anything you do, there are some clients that will specifically  tell you the colours  of beads they wanted and your responsibility is to give them the best  necklace, the earrings, bracelets, flower vase or any other design you are making.

At this point, you should know at what stage you are to combine some particular colours, the other colours of beads to blend it with to bring out the beauty on your outlook.

4. Have The Knowledge Of The Complimentary and Dominant Colours
Colours like yellow- green, red- purple and red - green are complimentary colours because they are said to be directly opposite to each other. There are also dominant colours you could use while beading and the ones you could use to highlight your beads which will add touch to your design.

I made a few list of some colours that will go well while beading or for your outfit. Be informed that they are not limited to these, since there are more than  1000 colours in the world with its different shades and all. The ability to blend them also matters.

The colours are:
Peach and burgundy, Red and champagne gold, Aqua blue and Gold, Ash and baby pink, pink and Red, yellow and silver, Army Green and Baby Pink, Bronze and champagne gold, Peach and Gold, Teal Green and Gold, Silver and Gold, Red and silver, wine and Gold, Skye blue and pink. Turquoise Blue and Gold, Purple And Gold, Burgundy and Red, Peach and Bottle Green, Yellow and Blue, Blue and Fuchsia Pink. Orange and Gold, Green and Gold, Red and Gold and so on.

5. Be Careful Of The Colour of the Beads You Used For Your Design
Few months ago, while I was working on a certain design, I picked some colours that are not bright to bring out the result of what I was creating, I didn't like what I was getting, immediately I changed the colours and went for a dominant colour which is referred to as the 'chalk beads' and blended with a highlighted colour called ' the glass beads' alas...the result was perfect, both colours came out lovely.

I decide to share here so you would be careful of using two many  glass beads together without a dominant colour( which are the many cool colours of beads without a dominant ones). If you do this, you wouldn't like the result you will get.

I hope after reading through these post, you will be able to come up with beautiful set of colours of beads to suit your design.
